Young Einstein

Plot – In the early 1900s, young Albert Einstein lives with his parents in the wild mountains of the Tasmania. He should help his father to cultivate large quantities of apple trees, but the boy does not care for agriculture and, moreover, he often causes trouble at home while doing important scientific experiments in physics and making big discoveries. He earns his father’s appreciation only when, in 1905, he is able to add the desired bubbles to the beer brewed by the family: in reality Einstein discovers the famous formula of relativity. Finally, realizing the boy’s genius, his father sends him to Sydney to patent his formula. Once arrived at destination, after an adventurous and arduous journey, Einstein encounters a few difficulties at the patent office, but he meets a charming French girl, Marie Curie, who has recently won the Nobel Prize, and who shows an interest in him and in his theories. The two fall in love. Meanwhile, Einstein also meets Preston, a young man without scruples who claims to be a scientist, and after stealing Einstein’s formula, which he wants to use for the industrial manufacture of beer, he has Einstein locked up in a mental hospital. During an important ceremony chaired by Charles Darwin, Preston, who is expected to receive a coveted prize, in his ignorance risks causing an atomic explosion capable of destroying the world. However, Einstein manages to avoid the disaster and Preston is unmasked and arrested. Einstein hopes to be able to live happily at last with his beloved Marie, but the two lovers are separated, so Albert returns to his village in Tasmania. He is here welcomed with enthusiasm by his fellow citizens, to which the young man offers an exhilarating rock concert.
